OOH! Such lovely eggs!

Well, the girls are getting into their stride now, laying lovely eggs, most days we have 3, but on one occasion we had 5!  Yesterday I baked one of our farorite recipes for the first time with 4 eggs from the girls - delicious cake with marscapone cheese sweetened with icing sugar, and delicious extra fruit cherry jam!  This cake won't be around for long, I can tell you!  I did't photograph the cake, but here's some more pictures of the cluck gang, anyway.

Here come the girls!

Hello, and thank you for visiting Honeypuddle Farm.  We got our rescued hens on the 17th October and they have happily settled into their new home now.  We love these girls, they are called Betty, Hetty, Alice, Ruby and Dorris.  When they first came they looked quite sad, but now, after nearly 2 weeks into their retirement from being battery hens, they are starting to flourish and grow, doing all the things chickens do, scratching, digging holes, dust bathing and eating like there was no tomorrow!  Please visit us again to see how our girls are getting on, in 2 months they should be beautiful hens, with all their feathers grown back!
